It was the year 2008 when I first watched the film “Dil Chahta hai”. I was 12 years old then; couldn’t understand anything about heartbreak or love back then. But, even then, the film became my favorite instantly because of that one single reason – Goa! That movie gave me something to add to my bucket list and that was the Road trip to Goa with friends. Then, over time, that plan was made and canceled numerous times.
But it was only after the pandemic that we realized how important it is for us to go on that trip to Goa, more so now than ever. And after weeks of drama, Abba Bhi Maan hi Gaye and I, along with 3 of my friends, were finally on our way to the favorite destination of every bachelor – GOA!!!
Well, I’ll be honest, initially, our plan was to consume alcohol like there’s no tomorrow. But that plan changed as soon as we get to see the beautiful valleys and paths along the way. We realized that Goa isn’t just the coolest place in this country but also a very beautiful state and it’d be a shame if we don’t witness that beauty.

So, our trip began with us reaching North Goa. The part of Goa that is filled with vibes, people, alcohol, beaches, and parties. And hence, the obvious first step was to buy a few incalculable pints of beer and wander around the wonderful Baga market located at Arpora. After exploring the region, we walked to the Baga beach. And as soon as we get there, it was like we were in a Utopian world. That place was out of this world with people all around and the majestic sea in front of our eyes. Before we can think of anything, I was in the water with my best friends and we spent all our day in there. It was like, we were back to childhood days when time do not worry us anymore. By the evening, we sat by the beach listening to the waves of the sea and watching the sun set into that same sea. It was serene and overwhelming. We sat quietly by the beach. No words were needed at that moment.
At night, we went to Casino Royale. That casino almost made me forget that we’re still in India. I felt like we were in Los Angeles. And whatever happened in LA, stayed there.

Our second day of the trip, we decided to get some adrenaline going. We took part in water sports like speedboat rides, parasailing, and simply playing on the beach at a number of other goa beaches like Vagator beach and Calangute beach. That night, we stayed up all night partying (which is reasonable enough).

Later in the evening, we went hiking to the Cabo de Rama Fort. On reaching the top, we lay there for hours looking at the beautiful blanket of stars above us.

The next day, we spent our day entirely exploring more of Goa be it cuisine, its churches, markets, cafes, and what-not. Later in the evening, we spent our night sleepless on the Galgibagh Beach – one of the lesser-known and cleanest beaches of Goa. We spent the night there toasting about the trip of our lives.
The next morning, we were supposed to be on our way back to the real world. But we took a little detour to visit the majestic Doodhsagar waterfalls. That sight was so overwhelming that all our hearts were full and on the verge of crying. Maybe, it wasn’t the sight. Maybe, it was the realization that this is the last place and then we’re back to our ‘not-so-happening’ lives.
