Bengaluru: Ahead of the Onam festival, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to initiate special bus services connecting Kerala and Bengaluru. Commencing from August 25, a total of 32 interstate services will operate from Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Mangaluru, linking various cities in Kerala. As reports indicate, ticket reservations for these exclusive buses have already kicked off. Notably, among the 32 buses, 22 are equipped with a seating capacity limited to 25 passengers each, and they are now fully booked. Additionally, a dedicated service will operate in the Mysuru-Ernakulam section. To cater to varying demands, the Karnataka RTC will implement up to a 30% fare increase based on demand.

The specialized KSRTC buses will embark from Shantinagar on August 25, departing at 8:14 PM and 8:31 PM. They are scheduled to reach Alappuzha in Kerala by 7 AM the next day, covering destinations like Ernakulam and Thrissur en route. These extra bus services to Alappuzha have been introduced for the festive occasion of Onam.
